Emkan Finance S.A.L is a Lebanese financial institution licensed by the Central Bank of Lebanon, and established by Bankmed under the License No. 65 on the 23 of June 2011.
Emkan Finance S.A.L. was founded in response to the substantial yet unmet demand for financial services by the low income economically active individuals, and limited economic stimulants in local communities.
The operations of Emkan Finance expand the frontier of financial services to reach the unbanked segment of the population, thereby complementing Bankmed’s outreach and services within communities.
Emkan’s microfinance operations originally started in 2009 under Emkan NGO which provided access to microloans and economic development projects in Lebanon.
The Emkan team has been growing steadily since the inception of the institution and has continued expansion plans over the coming years.
Today the main objective of Emkan Finance is to continue its mission of providing microfinance services through its branches in Akkar, Beirut, Chtoura, Sidon, Tripoli and Tyre, to the largest number of economically active low-income individuals in Lebanon.
